A county in South Carolina is forcing GOP hopefuls to take a hefty moral pledge. According to the Clinton Chronicle in South Carolina, the Laurens County Republican Party announced that a new resolution would require candidates who wish to run as Republicans to take an oath of character. The oath forces candidates to pledge that they abstained from sex before marriage, do not have a same-sex partner, must take a homophobic stance on same-sex rights/civil unions, and must never ever look at pornography. So naturally, that should attract the most highly qualified self-loathing sex addicts. Just saying. Next upfemale candidates who seek to run on the GOP ticket in Laurens County, S.C. must not expose an ounce of skin or they will be beaten with sticks. Welcome to 2012 B.C. in the GOP.
