Governor Bob McDonell [R] of Virginia is whining to National Review Online that there has been an inordinate amount of focus by the press on only a few bills in the state legislature. Maybe this is why the press is focused on certain bills:I guess McDonnell thinks he can just haul these protesters away and say "Move on folks, nothing to see here."PROTEST VIDEOFrom your link:The demonstrators were arrested for being on the Capitol steps instead of near the Bell Tower, where they had a permit to protest. It's unclear what makes the steps sacrosanct, since the Capitol's South Portico is used almost exclusively for ceremonial purposes.If the protestors can't follow the guidelines in their permit, then they get what they deserve. Rarely do they allow anyone to protest too close to the action after 9-11. Who knows, maybe one of these crazy menopausal women could go postal on the Capitol.
