Because to expand I35 would be an absolute nightmare for commuter traffic for a decade or more.
They should have done it back in the 80s/90s when city growth began to explode.

I suppose but some years back I was running Laredo .

Eventually I got smarter timed it out so I ran that middle of night.

Sometimes shake it up a change of scenery go Us 59 thru Houston instead.

Now Houston that city knows how build freeways I mean 6/8/10 lanes each side and the biggest interchange ramps I ever seen anywhere.
